Choosing the right photographer for your wedding is no easy task. You want someone that understand what you are expecting in your photos and someone that has a personality that you click with. Your planner will have a suggested list based on your budget and know all the right questions to ask, however, they may come a time when you visit a photographer without your planner and you need to know what to ask.
- How much experience have they had shooting weddings? Indoor or outdoor weddings?
- What is their photography style? In the consultation the bride must be as specific as possible about what you like and/or dislike.
- Is the photographer familiar with your venue or venues that are similar?
- How long have you been in business?
- Will the photographer that's doing the consultation be the photographer? If not, which photographer and ask to see that photographer's work.
- Will there be another shooter? Depending on what's going on many photographers will have another shooter photographing from a different angle, this will ensure they catch everything.
- How many events will you be shooting that day?
- Will the proofs be online?
- How long after the wedding will the proofs be available then the final product?
- What happens if there is an emergency and the photographer can not show up?
- If your wedding runs longer than expected will the photographer stay? If so, is there an additional cost?
