Should I Have An Engagement Photo Shoot?

Yes, Yes, and Yes.

This may be the first time you and your fiancĂ© are having professional photos taken, so please take advantage of this opportunity as soon as you select your photographer.  You may feel you cannot take the time out of your busy schedule, however, your engagement photo session is a valuable tool that I think all engaged couples should utilize.

An engagement session helps you loosen up when taking photos.  This should be a time where you can show your personality and have fun.

Your engagement session allows you and the photographer to get to know one another, Its important!  Make sure that the photographer for your engagement session is going to be the same photographer on the wedding day.

Choose a location that has meaning to the both of you.  It could be where you got engaged, a place where you always wanted to be photographed, or even the museum.  Just make sure it’s a place where you both will have fun.

Your photographer will have fun with you.  He/She will give you tips on how to pose and how not to pose.  It gives him the opportunity to see what light works best for your skin color.

Taking your engagement photos early allows you to use them for save the dates, or wedding favors.

Remembering Your Guests

Last week it was the seating chart, this week it's the guest book.

We all are familiar with the “guest book”.  This is a book used for your guest to write down their name & address so you can send them a thank you for attending your wedding or event.  It usually gets tucked away after the thank you's are mailed, sometimes never to be seen again.

How about changing the dynamics and presenting something that will be memorable for you and your guests.  Check out these inspirational ideas and give your guests a reason to want to sign the "guest book".

Your guest can sign their name on a balloon fingerprint or a family tree.
Afterwards, frame for a fun reminder.

Order an engagement puzzle or use a favorite picture puzzle.  Your guests can sign each piece and later you will have a great time putting the pieces back together.

Little Couple Fingerprinting

Make your guest book a part of your home. Your guests can sign a chair, bench, or bookcase.
You decide.

Create a decorative calendar and have your guests sign on their birth date.  How surprised will they be when a card arrives from you on their birthday.

The Uniqueness Of It All

Weddings are an important celebratory moment in your life.  Because it goes so fast you want to capture every moment.  You want your wedding to be remembered by all that attend.  Why not try some of these ideas and leave a little memory for everyone.

 His & Her Fingerprints
Put your fingerprints on each others wedding band or a special piece of jewelry

Instead of the traditional ring pillow try a small box, a bible / sacred family book,
or a ring pillow made of flowers

Ask your venue would they put the seating in a circle so everyone can see everything

Take a memorable photo or frame mementos from your wedding
for a memory that will last a lifetime

Let your bridesmaids help you down the aisle
by writing a personal message on the bottom of your shoe
