What About The Details?

Getting married, it’s in the details; having a dinner party, it’s in the details; planning a baby or bridal shower, the details count.  No matter what type of event you’re planning, it’s all in the details.

The details are not the reason for your event but they do bring a special touch that makes it more enjoyable.  A napkin ring, a flower on a staircase, or the placement of your escort cards; the smallest element can put the biggest smile on your guests face.

Personal touches allow your guests to see the special attention you put into making your event memorable.

Ever thought about making a paper napkin ring with the menu on it?
Perfect for the DIY bride.

A flower on each stair can make the long walk enjoyable.

Anything can be used as a napkin ring.
Think outside the box and remember, they don't have to match.

A Ring Pillow is the norm.  What about sending your rings down the aisle on a special book, journal,
or family bible.   A unique idea that will only cost you the price of a spool of ribbon.

This wine cork escort card can easily be used for any type of wine themed event.

For your next dinner party think color.  It will make a bold statement about you
and the evening, and it looks good too.

Even the simplest dinner table can still have punch and personality.

Show your guests that you care.  Add more than flowers; a sign with a
special message and some candles can make your guests really feel welcome.

A flower made of cupcake holders and straws can be a nice crafts project
for that special little someone's birthday party.

Invitations, Envelopes, and Liners Oh My!

Now that the computer and the internet have become a way of life so has the evite.  Although the evite is convenient and handy, there’s nothing like receiving an invitation in the mail.

An invitation is the gateway to the tone or theme of your event.  It gives your guests an idea of what’s to come.  Whether they are couture, whimsical, or store bought with embellishments, invitations are the first personal touches to your special event.

More than just your grandmother's dollies.  Create an inner envelope with a 9" Dollie that your guests will keep forever.

Budget a little tight, dress up a simple invitation with ribbon, sparkly pins, or swarovski crystals to give an elegant look.

Calligraphy always creates an elegant look

Want a little pizzazz, nothing says couture like an invitation in a silk box.

Add a personal touch to your envelope liner by using vintage photos....

......or any paper of your liking

Trash the Dress

Often, brides wonder what to do with the dress after the wedding.  Will you save it for your daughter, will you sell it on EBay, or will you give it away? How about “Trash the Dress”?

According to Wikipedia - Trash the dress, also known as fearless bridal or rock the frock, is a style of wedding photography that contrasts elegant clothing with an environment in which it is out of place. “Trash the dress" is the art of destruction or deconstruction of a brides wedding dress to create a new artwork that the bride would be proud to display on their wall.

Now, in layman’s terms – “Trash the Dress” is simply that…trashing the dress.  Shortly after the wedding, a year later, or whenever you feel the spirit, you and your photographer create an artistic photo session trashing your dress.  You are allowed to do whatever you feel that trashing the dress would mean to you; standing/floating in the lake, sitting on railroad tracks, or laying in the street to name a few.  And you don’t have to do it alone; your husband will be a great addition to the photos.

So what will it be, seal the dress in plastic heaven never to be seen again or have a fun photography session?
