The Non-Traditional Bridal Couple

Are you the bridal couple that want the big wedding without all the pomp and circumstance?  It's okay, here are a few ideas that will help you get started.  Don't be afraid to put your ideas out there; your planner can make it work.

Now, Let's Get Inspired!

Tuxes don't have to be the norm.  These guys wore vests only
with green Converse and colorful socks & ties.

This couple jumped the broom, but instead of the traditional broom
we made this metaphorical broom which turned out great.

Try throwing confetti instead of rice or blowing bubbles.
Easy to handle & throw in this plastic tubing.

Let's not use the traditional Mr. & Mrs. on the chairs, try I'm His & I'm Hers.

Need an appetizer to cool off your guests? How about
frozen champagne popsicles with silverware sticks.

Use a brown paper bag for programs filled with goodies.
The bag can then be used to throw away the wrappings.

Thinking Outside Those Four Walls

Spring and summer will be approaching us soon and bridal couples will be thinking outdoor weddings.  Here is a re-post of tent ideas for the outside bride.

Just about every bride has dreamed about her wedding day every since she was a little girl.

She knows where its going to be, what the reception will look like, the design of her dress, how big her bridal party will be, and most of all how much fun everyone will be having.

How many brides have envisioned their ceremony and/or reception in a tent.  Maybe not as many that have dreamed of a traditional venue.  In the year of 2014 when so many are looking to do something different, a tent can leave much to the imagination.

Given the budget, the range of ideas that can happen with a tent are endless.  Between your childhood dreams and your grown up ideas you can have a celebration that you will never forget nor will your guests.

Wedding Planning Apps For You

I still have some old fashioned ways left in me.  I use pen and paper to take notes, although my trusty smartphone is always with me, then transfer over to my phone and/or laptop.  Today's technology has made it very easy to keep up with all your wedding notes, pics, emails, texts, tweets, etc.; so get rid of that bulky binder and go digital.

Following my own advice, here are a few wedding planning apps I think you will find useful.
Now, Let's Get Inspired!

WeddingScan - Use WeddingScan app to add products to your wedding registry from any store. Once you have completed your registry you can email directly to your guest.  There is a minimal cost for this app.

Appy Couple - Wedding app and wedding website all in one.  Add any and everything about your wedding.  Your guest will be able to see all information so there will be no excuse.  There is one time cost for this app.

Wedding Countdown - Create a special countdown to help you every step of the way.  Will sync with your social media.  Another unique feature, once your phone knows your wedding date it will countdown to every anniversary.

The Knot Wedding Planner - Great app for budget tracking, guest list management, task management, and so much more.  This app will help keep you on track.

myPantone Weddings & Events - This app will help you with your wedding color palette. Inspiration photos in various Pantone selections and you can take photos to add.

What To Do Between Your Ceremony & Reception

All those months, and in some cases years, of planning and you are now Mr. & Mrs.  At this moment everything seems to be moving so quickly.  Before the celebration begins you have a small window of time so decide on a plan.  Once you and your fiance come up with your plan make sure you discuss with your planner so she can help you execute it perfectly.

In the meantime here are some options you may want to implement.
Now, Let's Get Inspired!

1.  Take at least 15 minutes for yourselves.  You are about to embark on a fast paced celebration with a lot of people so start your marriage off with a few minutes of alone quality time to take everything in and say what you wanted to say when you saw each other for the first time that day.

2.  Make sure you eat.  Even if it's only appetizers put something in your stomach.  Many times couples get so wrapped up in the festivities they do not eat or they barely eat.  Ask your planner to have a plate waiting for your after the ceremony.

3.  Get your photos taken.  This is the perfect time to get your photos taken together, it allows for less time taken away from your guests and the fun.

4.  Touch up your makeup & hair.  No better time for touch ups than right after the ceremony.  Many photos are about to be taken and you may not be able to do it later.  Ask your makeup artist in advance if he/she can stay for touch ups.

5.  Speak with your parents & in-laws.  Everyone will be trying to get a kiss, hug, and wish congratulations.  This is an opportune time to let your parents & in-laws know how much you both appreciate everything they have done.
