The majority of the time this blog is about wedding advice, tips, and photos; well, today's blog will be on planning your Labor Day event.  Yes, I do plan events other than weddings and it's time I pay some attention to everyone else.  I'm not throwing away my brides but I often get questions about other events so today is the day.  By the way, brides can use these tips also.

Labor Day will be our last summer holiday of 2013.  There will be all types of celebrations going on to honor that special day; weddings, birthday parties, backyard BBQ, parades, and picnics just to name a few.

There are so many different areas you can go with your Labor Day theme.  My personal favorites are decorating the table and holiday drinks.  Of course you play with color with the food and other decor but it's about how elaborate or toned down you want to be.  Whatever your choices, have a safe and fun holiday.

Bare Foot Jewelry

When choosing your wedding jewelry we often do not think about the feet.  If you're getting married on the beach, wearing sandals, or just want to show off, try bare foot jewelry.  Depending on how you feel and the type of shoe you are wearing this jewelry can also make a statement about who you are.

Beautifully displayed wedding rings in the back of the dress.  Very creative and unique.  How do you want to show off your rings?  This is a great photo.

Bar Basics: Stocking The Bar

If you are wondering how much liquor or garnishes to stock when entertaining here is a great reference chart that will help you out.  Increase the amount if your event will last longer than four hours.

Lighting for Your Wedding Reception

You've chosen your reception venue and it is absolutely beautiful.  However, you feel it's missing something.

A good way to accomplish that "missing something" is by choosing uplighting. Wedding reception uplighting can be used to put a spotlight on the wonderful crown molding along the ceiling of a historical hotel or strategically highlight stunning archways to add a little drama.

When considering reception lighting, the option of going with uplighting is always going to be a stylish choice and one that adds charm to your special day.  Sometimes just that little extra oomph can take an appealing wedding reception and give it that perfect touch that amazes your guests.

It's Only Bling!

What girl doesn't like bling?  Whether you are getting married, having a special event, or just need a little something something, we all love the bling.

Your wedding is the perfect time to let the bling flow.  It doesn't matter if it has been professionally designed or you used your own DIY ideas, you never go wrong with bling.

Now, Let's Get Inspired!

Adding a little bling to your nails is always a nice touch, just don't go overboard.

Of course you must have bling in the ring,
how much is determined by you and your fiance

Some bling in your sweetheart table or head table decor
will be a great accompaniment to the decor in the entire room

Your guests will love a little bling while they are dining.

I am not a big fan of blue but I'm starting to change my mind, this is adorable.  Love the table linen, lucite chair, and position of the sash.

Details, Details, and More Details!

Whether you've been dreaming of it since you were a little girl, a teenager, or an adult every bride knows what she wants her wedding to look like.  You can envision the decor, your beautiful dress, what your bridesmaids will be wearing, and even the look on your fiance's face as he sees you for the first time; but what about the details.

Of course your guests will remember what a beautiful couple you were but the details are what make them gasp and sometimes make you cry.  It doesn't have to be anything elaborate but putting in the extra effort in the smallest thing will make the biggest impact.

Escort Cards given out on trays will be something your guest will remember

Signature plates instead of the usual guest book

Instead of a pillow choose a favorite book of poems or family bible for your ring bearer;
not only will your guests see him they will notice what he is carrying

When choosing your stationary have them create a unique menu card
that your guests will want to take home

The Rear View (And We Don't Mean The Mirror)

When the officiant ask for everyone to stand for the entrance of the bride, we all turn our head and watch the vision of loveliness walk down that aisle.  What about the rear view, does anyone remember?   You would if the bride's dress had any one of these looks.
