What Is The Wedding Stationary Suite?

You're engaged, you've set the date, picked out your venue, and now it's time to choose an invitation. This is an important decision because the invitation not only invites your guests but sets the tone of what's to come.

Your wedding stationary suite consists of many options depending on your needs.  In order to help simplify your decision here is a list of the components involved and their function.

Save The Date Card - This gives advance notice to your guests.  They should be sent out at least 6 months in advance.  Save the Dates are especially helpful if your wedding is on or near the holiday or you are having a destination wedding.

Invitation - This is your official announcement.  Informs your guests of the date, time, and location.  Your formal invitations are mail four to six weeks before your wedding date.

Outer Envelope - The mailing envelope that includes the full name and address of your guest.

Inner Envelope - Holds your invitation and other enclosures (this is an option, today most couples do not use the inner envelope).

Response Card/RSVP - This is the card that is returned to you by your guest advising if they will attend or not.  It is your responsibility to add postage on the RSVP return envelope.

Reception Card - This is used when the ceremony and reception are held in two different locations.  It has the address and time of the reception.

Direction Card - If you think your guests will have some difficulty arriving to the ceremony and/or reception, it is a nice gesture to include a direction card (optional).

Accommodation Card - This card lets your guests know of any hotel arrangements and blocks that you have made (optional).

Wedding Ceremony Program - Gives the order of events for the ceremony.

Escort Card - This card directs your guest to his/her assigned seat.  They will get this card upon entrance to your reception.

Place Card - This card directs your guest which place at the table they will be sitting.  This card is already on the table assigned.

Table Number - The design that you choose should be comparable to your invitations and the overall theme of your wedding.

Menu Card - Informs your guests of whats on the menu (optional).

Thank You Card - These should be ordered at the same time you order your invitations.  Be sure to order enough, if you have leftovers you will find a use for them later.
